We’re ready for the restart.

The world has changed as we know it, and hospitality has felt the full effect of the COVID-19 shutdown.

Now as we are ever so slowly preparing to return to some form of normality, the first hurdle is how to host patrons as they return to venues, there are several considerations that we need to take into account.

The Victorian Government has announced that from Monday the 1st of June, cafes, restaurants and pubs can resume serving meals using table service only, for up to 20 customers at a time. Furthermore, they have stipulated that:

  1. Alcohol-only service is still not allowed, and Patrons must consume alcohol with a meal (not Snack).
  2. The 1.5-metre spacing requirement is between tables to maintain physical distancing between different groups of diners.
  3. The venue must request that each person who attends provide their first name and a contact phone number. Venues must keep a secure record of those details, the date and time at which the person attended the facility, and the dining area/room and table number at which they were seated.
